I wanted to start doing a spot light post on a game each week that I have personally played and enjoy! This week’s spotlight game is called, The Floor is Lava. We have all had our moments when we have yelled “The Floor Is Lava” and making others run and jump off the floor onto random objects. This game follows the concept with a cute twist!
The first thing that you have to do is spread out all of the foam “rock” pieces of different colors and spread them throughout the room. There are two ways that you can play the game either working together to get from one side to the other or competing against each other. The game comes with a spinner that will be spun to reveal which color rock you would have to go to!
I played this game with 3 of the kids that I nanny for because they are honestly the best critics. This game provided fun entertainment for a good chunk of time. We played both the teamwork and competitive way and they definitely were more of a fan of the competitive one. I mean they are siblings so that is a given. We were also able to get creative and come up with our own way to play as well to make an individual competition!
How can I tell you that this game was a hit with the kids. The 11 year old boy that I nanny for said ” When I first saw this game, I thought that it was going to be stupid but it was actually a lot of fun”. So there you have it, I would highly recommend purchasing this game. I was able to find it on Amazon!
