I have to admit that I was really not interested in making my home all “smart” if you know what I mean. It wasn’t until last year that I started to buy more smart products. The main product is the smart plugs. I am absolutely in love now.
I used to have to go all around the house to turn off all the lamps by hand and it was an annoying process. I also didn’t like the fact that I when I would leave for work when it was still light out, I would either have to have the lamps on when I left or leave Daisy in the dark.
I started out by getting a two pack of plugs and I used one on my living room light, which is where Daisy often laid. The other I put up in my bedroom to use on my bedside lamp.
One of the main reasons I love these smart plugs is the fact that you can control them right from your phone through an app. The main feature that I use the most is the timer. I will set my timers for the lamps to come up when it is starting to get dark out! This makes me feel better because I am not having it on all day and always a plus to save money on the electric bill.
Now this past Holiday season with the Christmas Trees everywhere in the house (I have 4 full size trees), I caved and bought 4 more plugs. This was AMAZING! I was able to turn all the Tree lights on and off by my phone and I set a timer for when they would come on everyday. This was so nice because I always was able to come home from work to beautifully lit trees.
There are so many options and brands of Smart Plugs. I did buy two different brands because they were on sale on Amazon at different times. So, I do have to use two different apps to control them all but that’s nothing.
