I woke up a little sad on this day, because I realized that it was our last full day of vacation. I was ready to head home as well because it was a very busy week, but I was going to miss the view I have been waking up to! On the agenda for Joe and I today was heading to see my cousin Liz and hang out with her in New Port Richey. Before heading to see my cousin, we of course had to go and get some coffee from Starbucks. Coffee is a must for Joe and always a nice treat for myself.
The drive was not bad, we hit a little bit of rain but it was done by the time we got to my cousin’s house. New Port Richey is such a nice area. There is a lot of store and places to eat in the area also.
It was so nice to be able to see my cousin Liz because it had been a few years since I had last seen here. We got to her house and she had a picnic packed for us to go down to their private beach area for lunch. The beach area was so nice and had such a cute area set up. There were pavilions with picnic tables in that you could hang out at. The sand was white and there were wooden beach chairs spread out along the beach. The subs that my cousin got for us were delicious and her son joined us to hang out at the beach for awhile.
The skies were definitely dark and the wind picked up for a little. There was a little bit of rain but it wasn’t a hard rain and it really did not last long at all. The water was nice and warm, and felt good to just walk around in. Before we headed back to my cousins house to hang out a little, she played photographer and took a few pictures of Joe and I. They all turned out so cute and are some of my favorite pictures from the whole trip! I had to share one of my absolute favorite pictures of us below! I think that it is so cool especially because you can see the darkness in the sky and it is still beautiful.
After hanging out with Liz a little longer it was time to say our goodbyes, I really wish we lived closer! We sat in the car for a little bit thinking about what to do. I saw that there was a mini golfing place in the area, so that was our next stop. I have to admit that mini golfing places are pretty few and spread out in Florida.
As you can see from the picture above, the name of the golf course was called Congo River Golf. One thing that was different about this golf course was that they had a bunch of little Gators. When you first walked in your could see the area where all of the gators were just hanging out. They were mostly just laying there and only a couple of them were actually moving around. They all looked so cute since the were secure in there area and far enough away from me!
The course itself was really cool! The atmosphere was very cool and made you feel like you were in a deserted area. They had a beautiful waterfall that you got to walk by on a bridge. One of my favorite things about the golf course was the fact that they had a plane that was a zebra print pattern ( I have a major love for zebras and zebra print)!
We had a great time playing this course, there were a lot of tricky holes! Whenever we were walking around to the different holes there were a bunch of little lizards roaming around! They were so cute and tiny! For a Friday afternoon the course was not really crowded and we were able to get through it in no time!
After mini golfing it was then time for my job, picking where we were going to eat, which is always hard! The options were just endless, but I ended up picking a place in downtown Tampa. I made us a reservation at the American Social Club. We had about a 45 minute drive to downtown. Once we got into the city it was a little chaotic, there was so much traffic and people everywhere. I thought that there was maybe a sporting event or a concert in the area. I was wrong that is just a typical Friday evening downtown. When we finally got to the parking garage it was just a short walk along the bay area to get to the restaurant. I am glad that I made a reservation because otherwise it was over an hour wait. We had a table outside which was a bonus because it was just so crowded.
The food was absolutely delicious and for how busy it was the food came out pretty fast. We had some pretzels with beer cheese and honey mustard as an appetizer. They were nice and hot and the sauces tasted amazing.
Joe had a vegetable soup and a cheeseburger and fries. He said that it was all so good and was definitely a filling meal.
I ordered a Grilled Chicken Cesar salad, which was so fresh and the chicken was cooked perfectly! We were so stuffed that there was no room for dessert.
After dinner we looked at some of the boats that were docked along the bay as we walked back to our car. The boats looked all pretty at night because they were all lit up. I think that it would be a great experience to stay on a boat overnight! Adding it to the bucket list.
Once we got back to the condo, it was sadly time for Joe and I to clean up and get all of our things packed back up. We had an amazing stay at the condo and we would definitely stay there again. I was going to miss waking up and getting to go on the balcony and look out onto the bay. The next post will be the last one about the trip and it will be a better look into the condo that we stayed at! Hope that you all are having a great week!
