A look into my Phone Apps: Travel

I was thinking about what I should blog about next because I want to keep the different ideas flowing. Well, I do not know about you but I am always curious as to what Apps other people have on their phone. So, I am going to bring you a look into what phone Apps I use on my phone! I am very particular about the organization on my Apps so they ate all in folders. The folders are sorted by category.

Today’s category is going to be the Travel Folder (cue the ooh’s and ah’s ). I know that we are not all really traveling that much if at all at the moment. In due time we will be back and traveling more and these Apps are ones that I have found useful while getting around.

Above is the first page of my Travel Folder, I am going to list the Apps and let you know why I like them. You will notice that my folders have the Apps listed in alphabetical order (just another thing that makes me feel better and put together on there).

  • Airbnb: This is the first app that I use when I am planning on where to stay once we have decided where we are going. I love being able to find amazing houses, condos, apartments, and even guest houses to stay at. After using the App once for a trip to Deep Creek, MD and seeing what I could be staying in I was hooked. I prefer to stay in the above places over a hotel if I can. They also allow you to find different experiences and activities in the area you booked a place to stay.
  • Google Maps/Waze: I am grouping these two together because they are both used for navigational purposes. I prefer Waze over Google Maps, but when we use my phone at times when my boyfriend drives he is more for Google Maps. ( I will not list Waze on with the Apps on the second page since I listed it here)
  • Hamilton: This is in the travel folder because when I went to NYC I would always enter the raffles to try to win tickets to the shows! I mean what is better than free Hamilton tickets. ( Oh how I miss going to Broadway shows). I would also use this for other shows in PA and other surrounding areas because I would have made a trip there for a free show!
  • Hopper: I have not really gotten the chance to use this App because of Covid-19 happening. But, what this allows you to do is to be able to find some of the best times to fly to certain places. This App can find you some of the best times to purchase your tickets to get the best price for your flights.
  • Lyft/Uber: I know we are mostly all not strangers to these ride sharing Apps. They allow you to be able to get around without having to worry about driving! (Drink responsibly everyone!) I love using these ride sharing Apps both while around home or traveling. ( I will not include Uber again on the list since I put it here)
  • Priceline: I will normally use this App whenever I am unable to book a place for a trip with Airbnb and need to look for a hotel. I like this App allows you to get some of the best prices on hotel rooms. You are also able to look into car rental and flights as well.
  • ParkMobile: I downloaded this App while I was in Cape May, NJ. This App will allow you to pay for the metered spots through your phone. This made it so easy to just pay for the metered spots without needed the change (which who really has on them at all times.) I have decided to keep the App on my phone for future trips and even for using when I go downtown.
  • Southwest: I am normally someone who prefers to fly Southwest. So, having this App allows me to make it easier to look up, book, and check in to the flights.

The second page is not so full!

  • Sunoco: I have this App on my phone because this is the gas station that I often go to when I am hope. I love being a rewards member!
  • TKTS: This is an App that you absolutely must have when you are planning on going to NYC and want to get discounted tickets for Broadway shows. The day you want to get show tickets you can get on the app to see all the shows that have tickets still available and what the average price is going to be. Then you would go to the TKTS booth to purchase the tickets but, this allows you to be all prepared!

That is it for my Travel Folder of Apps and I hope that you enjoyed this! Please feel free to leave comments on your favorite travel Apps. Also, let me know if you enjoyed getting a glance at what Apps I use.
