Day 1 of Vacation in Tampa: Getting settled in.

Well for the next week I will be posting about each one of the days that my boyfriend Joe and I spent in Florida. I wanted to do the blog post by day because I really wanted to be able to go into detail about that we saw there. I really hope that if you have never made your way to Tampa, Florida that after seeing these post you will add it to your list! I have to say that the main thing that I love about staying in the Tampa area is that you are pretty central to many other areas that provide a full day of exploring and entertainment!

We flew into Tampa last Saturday and spent a whole week there. The flight there was nice and easy from Pittsburgh. Luckily we were able to get a direct flight, so it was easy travels once we were in the air. We used Southwest Airlines and that is our favorite one to book through.

When we arrived in Tampa we had to get our rental car. The process of getting up to the desk for our appointment was easy because it was not busy there! We did have a little bit of hiccup in the process though. Once we went out to find our car we discovered that we were given the same car as someone else and they were already in the car. Joe did have to go back to the desk and get it fixed but honestly they handled it well and it wasn’t a hard fix! The rental car company that Joe booked with was Budget.

Once we got our luggage loaded into the car we were off to the condo that we booked through our AirBnB. The drive was nice and easy, only about 10 minutes from the airport. The distance was a big selling point for me because I didn’t want to have a hectic and long commute back to the airport when our trip was ending.

When we got to the condo we were not disappointed. Our condo looked so pretty and modern and the view of the pool area and the bay from the balcony did not disappoint! I am going to do a separate post of the condo because I feel like there is a lot to share there as well. I will say that we stayed in a condo at Sailport Resorts in Tampa Bay, Florida. We really did feel as though this condo was our home for the week and would definitely stay there again when in the area.

After getting unpacked and settled in, we had the task of picking a place for dinner. Being that we were tired from our travels we did not want to jump right into cooking dinner. I say that it was a task because of the fact that there are endless amounts of restaurants in the area! I was a little overwhelmed for sure. Joe was the driver throughout the week and I was the restaurant picker! I will say that you should look into downloading the Open Table app if you do not already have it.The app came in handy a few times with making the reservation process easy and painless! For our first meal I chose Del Frisco’s Grille.

I ordered the steak salad and Joe got the seafood feature, which was Halibut with roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, and asparagus. Our food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend making a reservation here if you ever are in the Tampa area.

After dinner, we went to the grocery store and stocked up on drinks, a couple dinners, and snacks for at the condo for the week.

We ended the first night by going down to the pool for a swim. The pool area is so cute and the resort even had a bar area where you could purchase food or even order drinks. The water was so warm and relaxing after a busy first day.

I can’t wait to tell you more about our trip and all the fun that we experienced on the way. I hope that you all had an a great day and remember to stay positive.
