Day 3: A day in Clearwater.

We woke up on Monday to the amazing view of the bay, one of the best ways to start the week. We started the day off by heading to out to have some breakfast. I picked Village Inn because they had great reviews! They did not disappoint, the food was delicious. I got the french toast, an egg and sausage. Joe got a vegetable omelette and whole wheat pancakes.

Today was the day that we were heading off to Clearwater, Florida. The drive there was not bad at all, a little over 30 minutes. Our first place to visit was the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Joe and I were very excited because my cousin had told us the day before about how it’s home to Winter the dolphin. Winter is a very special dolphin because she was caught in a net and because of that she ended up having to loose her tail. Overtime, they were able to make a prosthetic tail made for her.

There were other dolphins to see there, an otter, turtles, fish, and stingrays and more. Joe and I were able to learn a lot about the whole process and Winters Journey.

After the aquarium, we decided to head out and see what the pier of Clearwater was like. The name of the pier is called Pier 60. The beach area was more crowded than Treasure Island, but the sand was just as white and the water was pretty. We walked the whole length of the pier. when you get to a certain point you have to pay $1 but that makes sense because there were people fishing there so that keeps it less crowded.

We decided to walk along the beach back to where the car was. The water was warm and the sand felt great between our toes. When we got back to an area that had some shops we got off the beach area and washed our feet at the rinse off area. I wanted to stop in some of the beach shops because I wanted to get something to bring back for my dad and his girlfriend since they were being nice enough to watch my dog while we were away. I saw the cutest zebra print dolphin statue in front of the one store, so I had to snap a picture!

When we got back to the car I looked to see if there were any Mini Golf places near by and there was one within walking distance of the car. So, we decided to just walk to the area. It was a hot day for mini golf but since we were only in the area for this day we figured why not.The place was very cute and they even had a parrot in the office where you paid, which scared me by speaking before I knew about it! The theme was pirates and there were ships, caves, and waterfalls.

When our game of mini golf was over it was finally time to head back to Tampa. For dinner, we were going to make taco salads. I cut up the vegetables and Joe made the meat. Dinner was delicious and it is always nice to be able to do some cooking when away for a week to save some money!

Inspired by our trip to see winter we decided to watch Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2 which are all about Winter’s journey. They were really good movies and I would highly recommend them. They are both available on HBO Max! I hope you have been enjoying seeing what all we did on our trip! Day 4 coming your way which was going to the Florida Aquarium and exploring more of downtown Tampa!
