We had a little bit of a later start today because we needed to sleep in after the day at Busch Gardens. On the agenda for today was to head to Tarpon Springs. This was one of our longer drives which was about 40 minutes, but still not bad. One of the main reasons for going to Tarpon Springs was to visit the Replay Museum. This is a place where you are able to play arcade games and pinball machines from the 60’s all the way to today. Joe saw this in one of the tourist magazines that were at our condo.
All you had to do was pay $14 dollars per person but you could play all day as much as you wanted to. They will give you a wristband, that way you can come and go as you please. I loved this because if we wanted to we could have gone to eat and came back to play more. We chose to just stay until we were all played out.
The picture above is of the two oldest pinball machines they had. They were from the 1960’s and one of them was able to be played. I loved being able to play the pinball machines and get to see how they have really progressed and changed throughout the times. The arcade games were also cool and there were many games there that brought me back to my childhood! Who doesn’t love taking a walk down memory lane!
I think that we definitely got our money worth because we were there for 4 hours! I hit my breaking point about 3 hours in, but Joe was having a blast. They had seats where you could just relax placed throughout the area, which was nice because I just moved around and watch Joe play the games for the last hour!
After finishing up playing, we decided to take a walk down the street to see my cousin’s consignment shop. The shop is called Consign and Design. The walk from the Replay Museum was nice and short so if you are in the area you should definitely check it out! They literally have some of the cutest items there. I wish that I lived closer and didn’t have to fly home because I would have definitely made some purchases to decorate some of the areas of my house.
I am so proud of her because you can really tell how much work she has put into the shop and just how much she loves what she does. They have so much decor items, they also had some clothes and some cute jewelry as well. The shop is located on E Tarpon Ave.They also have an Instagram so if you would like to see more of what is in the store check them out @consigndesignfl.
Once we were done looking around the shop it was time to go to dinner. We were heading to the Tarpon Turtle, where my cousin’s son works. We definitely surprised him and it was a funny situation because it was our first time meeting! The restaurant had such a cute look to it both inside and outside! It is located right on the water, so if it is a nice day outside I would recommend sitting outside where they had a band playing when we were there.
There are a lot of cool cocktails on the menu here! I was in the mood to try one, so I ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri. It was absolutely delicious and it even came in this cute Tiki glass.
The menu is more geared toward the seafood lover, so Joe definitely had a lot of choices. There are also plenty of options if your like myself and not a seafood eater. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Joe ordered the Fish and Chips and a salad.
The food was absolutely delicious and we were both very satisfied and full! There was no room for dessert for us today, but they had some amazing options! The food came out hot and we really did not have to wait long at all! The prices are not outrageous and you get a heft portion of everything!
When we were all done eating, it was time to hop in the car and head back to Tampa for the rest of the night. When we got back to the condo it was time to shower and just relax until we went to bed. The trip is winding down so only a couple more post about it. I hope that you are not getting too bored, I just feel like it is fun to share our experiences in case you are there and looking for different things to do!
