I hope that you all had an amazing weekend, Happy belated Easter to all those who celebrated. I am a couple of weeks delayed on giving you my experience with my second dose of the vaccine. Now, if you didn’t read my last post on my initial shot I would recommend going back to read that first.
The process of going in and receiving my second dose was painless! I walked right into the Rite Aid and checked in easily at the table in the front. I then walked back to where the first shot was given and sat down. I was asked what arm I wanted the shot in and was given the shot. It was so quick and I did feel it this time but minimal. They asked me to wait 15 minutes before leaving. I just sat down and talked to my friends on the phone rather than shopping this time. When the 15 minutes were up, I left.
I went to work the day of my shot because I was still feeling fine by the time work came around. I made it through the work day, but I could tell that I was starting to feel a little sluggish around 7:30 pm. That was about 8 hours after my shot. When I got home from work I was starting to feel a headache starting so I took Tylenol. I went up to bed and I was asleep by 9:45. I slept all the way until 10:30 am, the only reason I woke up was because my headache was back. I took more Tylenol and went to the bathroom. It wasn’t until I got out of bed that I realized that my body was achy and felt heavy. I went back to sleep and woke up the next time at 3:30 pm. I woke up without a headache and thought that I was over the hump.
I went downstairs to try to be a little bit productive. I loaded the dishwasher and put a load of laundry in. I then went up to take a shower. It felt amazing to just be feeling fresh and clean. When I got back into bed the headache was back so I knew that I overdid it. The rest of the evening I just did some work from my bed. By 8:00 pm my headache was gone and I did not have to take anymore Advil. I went to bed around 11:00 pm and slept through the night.
When I woke up on Saturday morning I still felt tired but the headache was still gone and my body no longer felt heavy and achy. I just took it easy throughout the upcoming week because I would find out I would get more tired than usual.
I hands down do not regret getting this vaccine! I am still 100% satisfied, and would still recommend it!
