I wanted to make one of my earlier post to fill you in about Daisy. The reason that I wanted to tell it is because I have not always had her. Daisy for those of you who may not have checked out my About me Page ( which you totally should go do!) is my almost 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier. She is my “fur baby” and she is hands down so spoiled! But, before me having her she belonged to my Great Aunt Sis.
I still can remember the day that my Aunt Sis got Daisy. My mom and her drove to an area out by where I was currently at college to pick the puppy up. They had given me a call saying they were going to stop by and say hello and I was so excited (because I was expecting to see the puppy)! Well , I don’t know where their heads were at because they came to see me on their way to get the puppy. I mean who does that!
Fast forward now to about 6 years ago. My Aunt Sis was getting older and she also had Parkinson’s disease. She was reaching the stage where she was really beginning to shake and have trouble getting around. I used to go over and help my Aunt with her laundry and paying her bills for her. When I was there one day she was very sad and I asked what was wrong. She then stated that she knew that it was getting difficult taking care of Daisy because she was living on the top floor of her duplex and wanted to know if I would “watch” her for a while. Now, I put watch in quotations there because we both knew that things would not get easier for Aunt Sis. I said yes without any hesitation and brought Daisy home to be with my mom, Dad, myself, and my dog Holli.
A little over 4 years ago my Great Aunt Sis had passed away. Along with her passing my first dog that was ever mine (Holli) also had to be put to sleep, which was unexpected. My mom also unexpectedly passed away the following week. I look at Daisy now and I know that my Aunt Sis was a peace knowing that she was with me. I am also so thankful to have had Daisy during that trying time of losing 2 people and 1 dog that honestly meant the world to me. I am always thinking about my Aunt Sis every time that I am with Daisy because she was an important part of her life! There are definitely times that I wonder why Daisy is the way that she is but then I just laugh and tell her that she is something special! The crazy things is that Daisy will never know just how much getting her and having her with me has really helped to save me in many ways!
