A New Year.. Same Me

Okay I know I sound like a broken record when I say, ” I am going to get better with posting on here”. But this time I mean it! I am very determined to have this blog both flowing and going places throughout the year. I hope that your years have been off to a great start. I know that we all get in the mindset of oh this is a new year so it’s going to be a new me. I am not going to take that approach this year. Why you ask? Well, I love who I am honestly and I don’t find the need to become someone new! However, I am still looking to become better in different areas of my life! So, I am encouraging everyone to not think about changing yourself but, think about how you can improve your life and goals!

What I am working on this year:

A Healthier Lifestyle:

I am really going to try and continue with my consistency in working out. Last year, I would often find myself falling into ruts with my exercising. I would get really into my programs that I would chose and then something would happen in life and I would stop. I have been really enjoying the current Beachbody Program that I am using. I decided to go with the Fire and Flow workout. The aspect that I love most from this program is that you alternate from a fast paced workout to a more slower paced and flowing workout. I am hoping that I can continue with completing the programs that I choose to the end! I have also joined Planet Fitness. I got the black card membership, which allows me to workout at any location. This has worked out well so far because I have multiple locations around me. I have found that I have a lot of friends that belong to this gym, so I am able to find someone to be gym partner!

Along with working out I am going to focus more on what types of food I am putting into my body. I am admit and fully accept that fact that I am someone who likes to snack throughout the day. My day is pretty busy and I am not the best at getting three full meals in. Snacking will still happen but, I am going to make sure that I carry a variety of healthier snack options with me. I am also going to really work on getting three meals in that help me to achieve the nutrients that I should be consuming from our lovely food pyramid!

Accountability:

Accountability will be a major part of my lifestyle that needs to me focused on more on a day to day basis. I have a few specific ways that I would like to be more accountable. One on the ways is time management. I want to be able to make the most out of my days. I have felt in the past that if I am not being productive, then my mindset is negative and I get lazy! I have been keeping up to date with writing out my days in my planner. I have always been the type of person that needs to have a physical planner with them. Technology is my friend only to a point, having a planner on my phone is too much for me. Personally, I get satisfaction out of being about to highlight or cross the tasks off as I accomplish them. These past 3 weeks I have been getting so much done each day and my mindset and mood has been really positive with it

Putting Myself First:

I am very guilty of putting myself last a lot! I am going to work harder on doing what is right and best for me. I will still be there to help out my friends and family because that is just my nature. But, I need to not help others at my expense. I need to not put myself into harms way or any sticky situations because of helping others. I am going to also do this to myself because even in an everyday situation I will not think about what is best for me! Going forward I need to carry out the day in a way that is best for my mind, heart, body, and soul!

Working On My Sleep Schedule:

My sleep schedule is all over the place, it is rather embarrassing. I do not have your typical 9-5 job and that will throw me off most days! I will end up sleeping in and not getting my body moving at a decent hour. That will in return make me quite the night owl and up way too late. I am working on not having my T.V. on when I got to bed, because I will end up getting into whatever is on. Doesn’t help even if it is boring, I will find away to get engrossed in the show. For the past few nights I will turn the T.V. off and I will just put on my Spotify playlist that has over 1,000 songs on it. I am someone who needs the noise to fall asleep and that has helped a lot!

Getting More Done Around The House:

Productivity is something that I have been pretty good with. So, I am hoping to be able to continue with and keep up with the productivity level that I have been at! I am always making my lists and getting tasks done. It is a big goal of mine to really start getting different parts of the house that are full of my other family members items that they have graciously left there when relocating. Here’s hoping that I can get the junk tossed and the other items either back with them or donated if they are no longer needed!

Including More Self care:

One major thing that I have been working on is getting in the habit of having a steady morning and evening self care routine. There have been many days that I am not even thinking about self care. But, this month I have been working really hard on making sure that I am taking care of myself throughout the whole day! I am washing my face two times in both the morning and the afternoon. I am noticing a major confidence boost and also my mood has been better when I am taking better care of myself.

The list could go on and on about other things that I am going to be working on to better myself, but not to change! I love who I am and I never want to lose the person that I am. Therefore, I will just focus on those aspects in life that will help me to be happier, healthier, and around for awhile!

I hope that this post will help you to notice your true worth and maybe motivate you too look in the mirror and see that you are amazing, loved, and worth it!
