What Are You Watching?

How have you been doing wherever you live? Here in Pittsburgh, we have been dealing with a good bit of snow lately. It has been really cold as well! This weather is the perfect kind to find a great show, curl up on the couch, and watch! I wanted to take the time to make this blog post so we could talk about Shows! Well, I guess so I can talk about shows and you can read about them. I would love to know what some of your favorite shows are though, so please feel free to leave me a comment with that you are watching! I am always looking into different show recommendations and adding to my lists on my subscription services!

I am going to break down the current shows that I am into by the subscription services to make it easier in case you want to watch or add to your lists.

Lets start with Hulu because that is where I have been finding most of my shows to watch. The reason that I love Hulu so much is because they will play a lot of shows from the main stations of ABC, NBC, and FOX.

Abbott Elementary: I just got into this sitcom recently. This show definitely gives me The Office “vibes” but with a school setting. Abbott Elementary is a public grade school in Philadelphia. The cast is really good and I find myself giggling every episode. This show is currently airing on Tuesdays at 9 pm.

How I Met Your Father: I loved watching How I Met Your Mother when it was on air. So, I was very interested in checking this sitcom out to see how it compares. I feel like it has its very own spin on things, which is best. I really have loved the episodes that have been on so far. They are easy to watch and cute. I love Hilary Duff, so I was glad to see that she was the main character. Episodes are available on Tuesdays.

911 Lone Star: This television drama series has been on for 3 seasons now. I got into it after binge watching the original 911. I am obsessed with Rob Lowe as the Captain, the whole cast is amazing. The story lines are so good. You can catch this show live on Fox on Mondays at 8 pm.

The Cleaning Lady: This show drew me in on the first episode. The basis of the show so far is about a woman is who in the US illegally and she is working as a cleaning lady at a casino in Las Vegas. The main reason for her being in the US is because her son is severely sick and is major need of a transplant and serious medical help. This show airs live on Fox on Mondays at 9 pm

The Dropout is the first series on here that I am not sure what my feelings are. I suggest watching it though because the story line is really good and it is base on true events. I normally love everything that Amanda Seyfried has been in but I am really not caring for her in this show. She plays the main character Elizabeth Holmes. She is a very intellectual young woman who is getting sloppy with her work due to the power of money and fame. They release episodes weekly which I like because I feel it gives me plenty of time to process what I watched.

The Girl From Plainville is a show that I stumbled across on the main page when looking for a show to watch until more episodes of the other shows came out. This is another story line that I want to be very brief about because I don’t want to give anything away about. The main character is a girl named Michelle who met a boy that was nick named CoCo down in Florida. Their relationship forms but takes a quick turn for the worse. That is all I am going to give to you, I just highly suggest watching. This is another Hulu original that releases episodes weekly.

The Thing About Pam is currently on NBC but they have been putting the episodes on Hulu the next day. So if you are able to watch it live than go for it! I love that they will post shows that are on the major networks because I am not home and able to sit down and watch them live. I cut the cord on cable a few years ago so I no longer have dvr to record either. Anyways, back to talking about this show. I love this one because it is also based on a true story, which while watching it makes me mind blown! Renee Zellweger does an amazing job playing the main character, Pam. Each episode has me both laughing and questioning how could some people be so blind to things!

Now, I am going to move onto Netflix. There are not as many shows on here.

The Woman In The House Across The Street From The Girl In The Window definitely wins a mental award from me for show with the longest title. But, along with that the show really was fun to watch. Kristen Bell does yet another amazing job with her character. I don’t want to go into a lot of detail of the concept of the show because I would hate to give anything away. I was able to binge watch this in 2 days (not that I am proud of that). Every episode made me more invested on what was happening due to it being more and more off the wall than the previous episode. Along with the thought of who did it… I also wonder how many casserole dishes does she own!

I know that this is now a newer show but, it would be wrong for me not to talk about one of my absolute favorite shows. I came across Shitt’s Creek during the beginning of the Pandemic. Joe and I were looking for something to watch on the weekends when we were both off and he was living with me. We stumbled across this and it became an obsession (well at least for me). We were able to binge watch seasons fast because the episodes were not long. Then we got to the last season that was not on there and I found a way to watch it on tv. Now all the episodes are on there and I will still binge watch the show at random times. Hands down a funny ass show with just everyone being an amazing character to watch and laugh at!

Good Girls used to be on NBC for multiple seasons, but then Netflix picked it up. I never was into when it was on NBC. This show is funny and gets crazier with each episode. They are currently on Season 4 now but, it is an easy watch. Just when you think you know what is going on, nope PLOT TWIST! There is not a character that I don’t care for and that makes it even more enjoyable to watch!

Dead to Me was a show I chose to watch because I love Christina Applegate and all that she has been in. I was not disappointed by this show! The story line is insane but has you hooked from the start. I am anxiously awaiting the next season to come out! This show will make you laugh and gasp at the same time. I would highly recommend this one!

Ozark was another quarantine discovery for Joe and I. We were video chatting with my Aunt Darcia and Uncle Paul talking about the shows that we were watching to fill in out time. He had told us briefly about the story line and made us promise that we would watch a couple of episodes to feel it out. Well, we watched a few and were hooked. It became another one of our shows to watch together. We are sad to hear that this is the last season for the show and are anxiously awaiting the last set of episodes to come out later this month. One thing that I can promise about this show is that you are really going to fall in love with and feel everything that this family is going through. This is a show that has many plot twists and you are never going to know what is happening until it actually happens.

I know that there are endless amount of shows that are available on all of these different subscription services. I could literally be typing out the same blog post for days if I covered them all. I am going to make this a monthly post where I can continue to share with you the shows that I have gotten hooked on. For now I hope that I have provided you with some new shows to watch. Please feel free to leave comments on your thoughts of the shows or even if you have a few recommendations on your own!

I hope that you week is treating you well, we are over the hump and the weekend is in sight!
